AI’s Role in Healthcare: Transforming The Health Sector through Artificial Intelligence

Recently, the world has seen artificial intelligence emerge in every field. Nowadays, technology is not limited to mobile phones. It has spread everywhere, including healthcare. Machines have proven themselves to be more precise and efficient than humans in many fields. Nevertheless, hospitals are now using robots for major operations, such as surgery, due to technological advancement.

This is not some far-off future; it is our present and reality. Moreover, this revolutionary use of robotics shows how far technology has come in a short period of time, making what was once considered impossible a reality.

Medical Robots Powered by AI Revolutionise Surgery

From precise diagnosis to patient monitoring to performing surgeries, AI is is succeeding everywhere. Medical robots provide precision and limit the invasiveness of surgical procedures. This benefits humans as there are fewer incisions and very low risks involved, resulting in a faster recovery.

Medical robots are being developed to help healthcare workers in a variety of ways outside of surgery. Robotic presence enables remote patient monitoring, enabling clinicians to consult with patients in far-off places virtually. Robots with AI algorithms and sensors are being used for duties like administering medications, gathering samples, and monitoring patients, which reduces the workload on healthcare workers and boosts productivity.

Human Trust Prevails in Healthcare

The reliability of robots is still not high when it comes to patients. They choose to trust their doctors more than a machine. AI cannot completely replace doctors since there are a lot of things AI is still not capable of, like making complex decisions. Also, patients tend to develop an emotional connection with their doctors that increases their trust, which is not possible with a robot.

Adding to that, AI can only work on facts and figures, which is not how healthcare works. But if AI and doctors work hand in hand, there will be a new revolution in healthcare that will result in better facilities and probably help treat a lot of incurable diseases as well.
